Hey Everyone,
Our Literacy Moodle is officially up and running, and a Literacy PLC has been created for this school year. A few teachers have already indicated that they want to be part of this as a way to engage in a secure asynchronous professional dialogue to help with their day to day instruction practice.
The first topic that we are addressing in the PLC is STAR Testing, how STAR Reports can be used to inform practice, and how STAR relates to the Response to Intervention (RTI) model that the district is asking teachers to implement to better meet the learning needs of all students.
There are already a couple of videos to watch and a discussion forum where we can start to talk about our thoughts and feeling with these new tools and approaches in the classroom. It can be a secure way to have concerns addressed and come together to help solve some of the issues that arise as we work with these things. My guess, which is why I want to do this, is that many of us are experiencing the same challenges and difficulties in the classroom - and are probably asking the same questions on how to use these tools to improve your practice and better help your children.
So... please take a look at the image above and consider joining the PLC. I think that teachers will find this to be a positive way to come together and work through our challenges together.
If you want to join the Literacy PLC through the new Literacy Moodle, please email me at [email protected] and I will create a user account for you.
Cheers,
Ryan
