Writing Workshops with Mr. Anderson
During the month of April, 2014, Mr. Anderson has been conducting a number of writing workshops with students in grades five through nine. These workshops have been focused on writing expository paragraphs, news articles, and business letters. The latter two of the three workshops have been to help grade six and nine students prepare for the functional writing tasks on their upcoming Provincial Achievement Tests.
In these workshops, students learned different writing strategies such as RAFTS and HW5. They also learned how to include different components so that their writing contained such things as topic sentences, supporting sentences, concluding sentences, proper leads/hooks, etc. What you see here is the exciting work that students have completed as they have worked to improve their writing in these workshops.
